Work in the beautiful Sonoran Desert in Cave Creek Arizona for the winter 
Cave Creek Trailrides is looking for qualified men and women who enjoy working with the public, are friendly and outgoing, outdoor oriented and are eager to enjoy the out of doors and all that it has to offer. Horse and people experience is required.
Cave Creek Trailrides is owned by Jeff and Deb Bitton and established in 1999. We offer 1 hour, 1.5, 2 hour and 1/2 day rides into the Sonoran Desert inside the Cave Creek Recreation Area, north of Phoenix on the Carefree Highway and 32nd Street. In the 2010/2011 season we expect to run 30 head of stock with 4 - 5 full time employees and 3 - 4 part time.
Jeff and Deb Bitton run similar operations in Central Idaho and adhere to a high standard of customer service and professionalism. Safety is our number one priority.
SEASON: The winter season will start mid-October with managers and some guides needed at that point. Thanksgiving and Christmas breaks are busy times so we can not give time off during those holidays. We do not work Thanksgiving or Christmas Day but are busy the days before and after. The season will end around May 1st. Summer employment in Central Idaho may be available for those interested.
HOUSING: Employees will have the option of providing their own housing. Options are sharing a rental house with other employees, or possibly a trailer space at the park. We do have a trailer that MAY also be available for rent.
WAGE STRUCTURE AND BENEFITS: Wages vary and are based on experience, position and number of years with Cave Creek Trailrides. Base wage starts at $65.00/day. Employees are expected to work a minimum of 5 days a week with some evening sunset rides. Tips are generous in this affluent area.
- Workman’s Compensation insurance is provided
- Pay-day is on the 5th of each month.
- One-two days off per week
- Transportation to and from corrals will be your responsibility.
POLICY
Western hospitality is a must, our guest expect to see and experience a "Western Atmosphere" in our activities.
Dress in appropriate western attire (i.e.; cowboy boots, hat, shirts and pants that are clean and free from holes) during working hours.
Maintain a helpful attitude. Most guests will need assistance with the boots, hats and chaps. Go out of your way to make them feel comfortable, getting “duded up” and be sure to help them with photo opportunities.
Appropriate language and professionalism is expected at all times.
Use of illegal drugs will result in immediate dismissal.
No drinking of alcohol allowed while working. Alcohol consumption during off time that impairs you ability to work will not be tolerated.
Be aware of safety considerations and legal responsibilities of guests.
Personal job effectiveness evaluations will be held on a regular basis.
Positively no pets allowed at the corrals.
We do not offer jobs to international students .

CORRAL MANAGER/GUIDE
- Daily operation of Cave Creek Trailrides
- Oversee 2-5 other employees, scheduling work time and duties
- Upkeep of boots, hats and chaps
- Feed and care of horses/tack
- Doctoring of sick and injured horses
- Responsible for corral & tack shed-upkeep and appearance
- Responsible for daily books/accounting/deposits/mail (see office person duties if this position is not filled)
- Guide horseback trips with groups of 1-8
- Work with Park Supervisor to maintain professional atmosphere
- Actively work and market with concierges, Chamber’s, and other groups to advertise our presence.
- Assume Office persons duties if this position is not filled
- Other duties as assigned such as but not limited to:
cleaning corrals
unloading and moving hay
cleaning and maintaining trails
maintaining tack

ASSISTANCE CORRAL MANAGER
- Assume responsibilities of corral manager when corral manager is not on duty or is not available
- Assist corral managers with daily corral routine
- Be primary person responsible for care of horses and tack
- Guide horseback trips with groups of 1-8
- Other duties as assigned: SEE “Other duties” under corral manager
GUIDES AT CAVE CREEK TRAILRIDES
- Guide horseback trips-groups of 1-8
- Lead up to 5 trips per day
- Feed and care of horses/tack
- Doctor sick and injured horses
- Saddling and unsaddling horses
- Cleaning corrals
- Other duties as assigned: SEE “Other duties” under corral manager
CORRAL OFFICE PERSON (as needed)
- FRIENDLY AND COURTEOUS TO GUESTS
- Receive money and insure guests sign appropriate forms
- Fit helmets to guests
- Maintain and do daily books, make deposits, do correspondence and phone calls
- Clean office
- Coordinate with Corral Manager on horse numbers available to book daily
- Assist with horses as time allows
- Keep corral and public areas neat and clean
- Sell and maintain retail items
- Other duties as assign by Corral Manager or owners
